Kyle and Lauren's ThoughtsThis trip has truly changed our lives. But if you are in God’s will, living the life He has called you to live, can you remain unchanged? I really don’t think so! God has revealed Himself to us this year in ways we hadn’t seen Him before. We’ve always known God is faithful, but this year we had to rely on His faithfulness. We always knew God would provide, but this year we had to live a life of faith. Knowing that we couldn’t provide for ourselves, everything would be from Him. We’ve always known about God, but this year we got to experience God.
One of the best things to see was the people’s hunger for the Word. They were so hungry that they were willing to go to class and learn to read in order to read His word. The people hang onto the pastors every word, and write down every passage of Scripture that is used, so that they can read it and study it at home. They were constantly memorizing passages and constantly talking about what they learned or what they had read. It was convicting, because that is not always what we had prioritized. We’ve learned so much from the people here. Our main reason for coming was to work in the clinic, and the clinic was an AMAZING place to work and minister. With every patient that was treated, they were prayed with and lovingly looked after. It wasn’t just the missionaries who prayed and cared, but the national health workers as well. We have learned so much from them and their genuine love for their people and their spiritual state. These are just small things that have impacted us and has changed our lives. I know God will take this experience and continue to work in our lives and hearts to continue to change to be more like Him. If you are thinking about giving a year or two of your life for ministry, we strongly encourage everyone to do it. You will not regret it and God will reveal Himself to you in ways you didn’t know were possible. |
Kyle and Lauren served for over a year at Kunai and worked wonders in the clinic. They have made many friends outside the clinic ministry as well, serving and loving the people in so many ways. Our Kamea people certainly miss them, as do the rest of the staff. Who will replace the Murphy's at Kunai? If you have been waiting for an opportunity to use your nursing skills in an incredible way to minister to the underserved and hurting, Kunai Health Centre would love for you to come!
